the year to come

This is Bruce. Bruce wasn’t getting enough exercise in his South Philly apartment, so he came to run around the Free People building.
So in the name of the new year, we’d like to share some of what’s to come in 07. First of all, our website is in the process of being totally redesigned. A major visual overhaul will coexist with better navigation, better search tools, improved product images and an easier checkout process. Yay!
Another exciting thing to look forward to is our catalogs. We plan on doing some experimenting and maybe even producing more books than just once a season. So if you’re not on the catalog list yet, now is the time!
And hopefully we can make some improvements to the blog, but we need your help! Leave us a comment and let us know what you’d like to see! What are you curious about, what can we do more of??
So Bruce learned a lesson. If you wander to the back corner, home of the creative team, you could emerge covered in bows and feathers…

i am excited to see the new changes in the free people web site!! i think it would be great to have a section featuring all of the free people exclusives (only sold on-line/catalog or in stores). thanks!

i think a great addition to the website would be listing the track titles and artists of the songs played in the store each season. i always love hearing them when i’m in the store but never know how to find them after i leave!

I love free people and it is so inspirational! The clothes, designs, and feel of everything is so beautiful and I absolutely adore the different designs in the stores (the dressing room is like a fantasy! haha its so gorgeous :D) I think something I would want to see more on the blog would be more into the creative minds of the free people staff and learning more about where you guys get your inspiration and what you think about when designing free people clothes! Much love and I’m looking forward to the changes to come!

I buy so many clothes from you guys, that it would be awesome to have some sort of rewards program for frequent buyers :P

Yes – I totally admire how creative you girls are, and would love to know the sources of your online inspiration. Maybe a ‘Cool Links’ section, or something of the sort?

I have never been to a Free People store, for there is not one in my area. So i would love to see here on the blog:
-pictures of the stores and their decorations
-do it yourself crafts (like how to make the decorations)
-music suggestions
-company information
-art
-more pictures!
-beauty tips
Thanks!

I agree, Free People clothes are so inspirational! You guys should have a section about each designer and then indicate which designer designed each piece of FP clothing.
(..and the rewards program does not sound half bad either!!)

I agree with Jess about learning more about the creative process of the staff . I would love to see Q&A’s with the buyers andthe visual display staff. Thanks!

i definitely agree on the DIY stuff. The FP look is so great, I’d love to see more examples and learn how to do it for my own area. I agree with what someone else already said- the dressing rooms are a dream- i always take my shoes off because the carpet is great. More visuals!!! I love the blog.

Alison -January 5, 2007, 12:18AM

also- I forgot to mention that it would be really cool to learn more about the inspirations- be it music, movies, etc.etc. I liked seeing the FP girl movie (and being able to identify the song!), so more stuff like that would be neat.

callie -January 5, 2007, 11:18PM

I love the FP exclusives too!!! More of those please

Jess -January 6, 2007, 2:42PM

me again ahha I also just wanted to quickly add that I think it would be cool if Free People made more things for rooms too! Because the design in the shops are so beautiful I just want to live there! Maybe some pillows and stuff like that! I love everyones suggestions! Thank you free people! Much love!

Lindsay -January 6, 2007, 8:42PM

More catalogs would be awesome! I don’t live near a Free People store, your catalog was the first I every heard of it and I just fell in love!

annie -January 25, 2007, 1:47PM

Thanks Free People for taking my suggestion seriously! You guys ROCK!!
