new travel craft swap!

The Valentine’s swap was a huge success and we’ve had lots of requests for another, so let’s do it! A huge theme in recent FP collections is travel. We’ve had store displays and product inspiration from across the world (the last two collections focusing on India and Africa), and summer is coming, so think about vacations! Get inspired by maps, travel guides, road trips, exotic countries, you get the idea.
So this time each participant will be matched with a partner. You will make something beautiful inspired by the idea of travel and they will make something for you in return. (Last time I matched everyone with one person to send to and a different to receive from, and it got a little crazy.) The sign up will be open for two weeks, so get your friends involved! Then you will have
about a month to make you goodies and send them out.
Click here to participate, and make sure you fill out all your info! Your email and mailing address are super important. Oh, and make a note if you’re totally against shipping internationally. Comment with any questions. Get to crafting!

First of all, this blog is one of my favorites. I’ve been reading for alittle over 6 months and remember a post about crafts for chairty and good causes. Alison Gordon of the webstore wonderlandq.com (very cute items.. i just feature them on my blog) just underwent sudden and unexpected hospitalization and surgery. I have made a post about it in my blog here :http://thekissingknees.blogspot.com/
There is a webstore on Etsy.com with items for sale that are going 100 % to her bills during this hard time. I was hoping that you may be able to post a little something about it or even make a reference to my blog to get the word out a little to help her. Thank you for your consideration soo much!

What do you mean by ‘something beautiful inspired by the idea of travel’, normally what do people do/make?

Anonymous -April 18, 2007, 12:02PM

The other day I wearing your new shear metallic beaded cami in the mall and some girl actually RAN up to me to ask me where I got it because she loved it so much!

fpgirl -April 18, 2007, 3:44PM

For Cheesie…
Take a look at our flickr group from the Valentine swap to see the kinds of things people have made. http://www.flickr.com/groups/fpvdayswap/

If I may make a recommendation, I think it would be nice to have the swap or a different swap a little later toward the middle(?) of the summer, so that we could swap things that we picked up on our travels or use the materials we found.

nana -April 30, 2007, 6:15PM
