fall display

As promised, here are photos of the new fall store display. The team made these trees out of chicken wire, fabric and yarn.

One of the main display concepts were these fabric covered bricks. The display team made about fifty of them in the home office and the rest were stitched in India. The bricks serve as an interesting visual element that are stacked to make different structures and patchwork effects. They contrasted the bricks with lucite boxes used to house the vignettes. The large shapes in the window below are large medallion cutouts from felt and fleece. They were somewhat inspired by the effect of postage stamps. What do you think of the new display??? Go check it out in the stores!

Hi! I love the new display’s colors but I was wondering what the underlying theme is. How do the bricks and trees correspond with the merchandise in the store?

wow, that’s gorgeous! Love the tones and that stool in front of the mirror is so cute!
About time for another swap? =)

The display for fall is cozy, and warm, as well as rich and textural. Fall merchandise in the stores moves from the “Grunge Princess” trend, which is textural and layered with many plaids and raw edges, into a BIBA inspired trend, rich in color and more fine material. The display is a walk the Free People girl’s textural and fantastical world, wandering in the woods, encountering strange patterns, color stories, and floating textile motifs. We hope you enjoy the experience!

What is this new “BIBA” trend?
I’ve never heard of that before!

i really dig the tree – any chance you can put up a close-up of the tree? i’m curious to know how it was constructed.

Awww everything looks fabulous! I don’t think I even want to try and express how amazing the display looks! It’s entirely inspirational and completely free people! It captures the entire feel of the new “grunge princess” theme (which is my favourite, thus far!) and is simply amazing! The BIBA idea sounds fabulous…I know BIBA was a label and boutique back in the sixties (the best era ever!) that had lovely and fabulous clothes, accessories, and even dog food! It was THE boutique in swinging London and had the quintissential sixties clothing! Knowing free people a BIBA inspired theme is going to be amazing!! Really looking forward to it!
Much love!
