marbled paper
Courtney and Lizzy made some beautiful marbled papers for our "trend walls." As the designers are developing a trend, they designate a wall in the hallway where they post all kinds of inspirational images, artwork, magazine tears, trims, etc. You'll have to wait a few months to see what comes of the trend with the marbled colors... The painting sure looks like fun though!
Here are some of the supplies and tips:
Paper was from Pearl Paint
Big white tub was from Ikea
The marbling kit was from Pearl too.
Innovative Marbling Suminagashi Dye Ink Set:
6 colors, in 12 ml. tubes and it comes with instructions!!
The girls put a little baby oil (does not come in the set) in the water too, just to make it more interesting. Wherever the oil is, the paper will remain white.

That's amazing! I learned how to make this at school. It's really beautifull and you'll never know how it's gonne look like before you start.

You need oil paints and paint thinner. Mix the paint in small cups with a tiny bit of paint thinner until the mixture is liquid. Then get a basin and fill it with water. Drip the colors you want onto the top of the water, it won't mix with the water or with each other immediately because of the paint thinner. Then swirl it around and place a piece of paper on top for a few seconds. 10 is best. Then remove carefully so the colors don't mix. And less is more, so don't overload on paint in the tub. You can get a few print off of it. I did this with kids at my camp (I'm an arts and crafts counselor). Good luck!

I don't know exactly. I can tell you I got it on several pairs of cotton sports shorts and it hasn't come out...so the paint definitely stays but I don't know if the pattern would transfer over to fabric as nicely as it does on paper.
