I’m really taken with these pictures by Kenichi Hoshine! There’s just something about the way the paint looks… when I first saw the tree one I thought there was pretty fabric torn all over it or something. See more at DesignDig.

The first picture reminded me of fabric on a tree too, which in turn reminded me of an art history paper I did on Arshile Gorky. His painting Garden in Sochi was inspired by memories of his fathers farm. Apparently on the farm there was a wishing tree, and travelers and people passing would tear a strip of their clothing off and tie it to the tree. It might have looked something like that tree in the first picture.
These are pictures by Hollis Heichemer, NOT Kenichi Hoshine !!
