May 28th, 2009 / Posted by fpgirl / Permalink

Hooray! It’s Thursday, and it’s time for our Thursday Poll!
Last week we took a look at some of the many ways to wear our Riding Hood Convertible Tee, and decisively chose the racerback tank styling as our favorite! It got 253 votes!
This week I want to ask you about some of our summer dresses and see which ones you guys really like!
Check out the Night Out Dress, shown here in Butter.

These pieces by Ulrik Martin Larsen are so carefully made and interesting! They look really intricate and delicate and yet the chains give a lot of them a very tough feel! They’re so inspiring – people have been doing such great things with chains lately! I also really, really like the one in the second picture down because of those little wood fingers along the edges! What do you guys think?

cross-stitch cars

962902 cross stitch cars
687247 cross stitch cars
147194 cross stitch cars
When I first saw these pictures I immediately liked the beautiful cross-stitched design on the cars – but I didn’t realize until I looked a bit harder that the designs are literally cross-stitched into holes in the hood of the car! How amazing! They were created by Lithuanian artist Severija Incirauskaite-Kriauneviciene for Berlin art show Strich Und Faden. Cool, right?

calling cards

The designs on these (very) old calling cards are gorgeous! I love the thought of a time when people would come see you, and leave cards to say they came by if you weren’t there, or to invite you to parties, or better yet, make romantic advances! Maybe sometime, somehow, calling cards will come back…
Anyhow, these beauties came from Dull Tool Dim Bulb – check it out for a few more.

Every Monday through Friday for 20 weeks, Ann Wood, of Ann Wood Handmade, made one horse, until she had 100! Each horse is made from cardboard and hand-painted, with cute button joints! Ann currently has the horses as decoration above her bed – don’t you love them? I want to make my own, and conveniently, Ann put together a DIY tutorial for Design*Sponge! Check it out here – even if you don’t want to make a horse it’s pretty cool to see how she did it!

I’m actually not that into horses, but I love this! The second picture is my favorite because of all the varying colors. It would be so fun to decorate a portion of a wall with colored horses. Definitely not your everyday decorating technique.
