tunesday: ok go

Post image for tunesday: ok go

if you aren’t familiar with the band ok go let me refresh your memory: choreographed dance routine on treadmills.

i haven’t heard much about the band since their 2006 video was a huge viral success, but recently, they’ve resurfaced with a new album, of the blue color of the sky and a funkier sound.  prince was a huge influence on the album, which you’ll hear in the track “skyscrapers”.  i’ll be honest, i wasn’t a fan of the band before, but this album has inspired me to give them a second chance — it’s catchy.  i also like the album name — taken from an 1876 book called “the influence of the blue ray of the sunlight and of the blue color of the sky” by augustus james pleasonton, on his theory that blue light had the ability to cure all ills.

check out a couple songs from the album below…be warned, the first one contains explicit language so if you’re offended by that, skip to the second one :)  we also included the song “back from kathmandu” on our new store playlist, which you can check out here.
