wednes-diy

this is an old pair of jeans that i love, but they’ve got three holes in them.  i was okay with that for a while but now –  maybe because it’s so cold out – i decided it was time to patch them up.

here are some images i found around the web and saved as inspiration for my project:

i really liked the idea of using different shades of denim and prints with blue in them…

this patch of fabric is actually the inside of a pocket from an old pair of jeans, but i love the way it looks – and it fit perfectly over the large hole in the knee of my jeans!

i used scraps of old denim for the other patches:

i think they look much better.  the only thing i’m not sure about is whether i should do something to the bottoms or not – i might attempt something like this (the genetic patched flare):

…but i can’t decide. what do you guys think?

She comes with colours in her hair

hairpost1hair 006

As of late rainbow hair has become a massive trend, I’m constantly stumbling upon this craze on the World Wide Web-bloggers are going crazy for it, Stylists and Magazines are crazy over it and moreover I’m CrAzY over it!

It doesn’t help when I sit next to a FP girl here at the office that has a beautiful faded pink strand in her golden hair. Me want and Me like!

If you haven’t seen the Beautiful video on Vogue Australia of Abbey Lee behind the scenes on the Vogue cover photoshoot I suggest you do! click

If you haven’t picked up Dazed and Confused Dec Issue yet in which the Caption States:

“Tie-dye takes over hair in a spirited approach to Autumn/winter’s crazy colours, moving it beyond it’s hippie heritage”

I suggest you do- Styling is done by Katie Shillingford and its ace!

fp loves…jessica seaton

we’re so excited to introduce you to our new favorite jewelry designer – jessica seaton! here’s the story of jessica, how we found her, and why we love her work.

one fateful day, we were on a shopping trip in venice, CA when we went into a cute little boutique. we stumbled upon some of jessica’s brass & bones collection, and instantly fell in love. jessica happened to be in that very boutique when we were shopping…and the rest is history. she showed us some more of her collection and we knew we had to feature her in our boutique!

jessica, originally a fellow east coast girl who is now living on the west coast, moved to los angeles to pursue a career as a makeup artist. she took up sculpture as her art form, which in turn led her to jewelry design. her current collection was entirely hand sculpted using the method of ‘lost wax’. (lost-wax casting is the process by which a bronze or brass is cast from an artist’s sculpture.) in jessica’s own words, “the collection is entirely hand sculpted using the method of ‘lost wax’, which is a dying art because we live in the day and age of computer generated design and laser cutting…but i think you can feel the energy that was put into the handmade pieces, they carry the energy. i started the collection while i was on a short sabbatical in big sur, ca…finding dropped antler’s around the cabin and property i was living at…people responded to the pieces, which were bit more dramatic back then… and now we have brass and bones…the collection.”

jessica seaton currently lives in venice, CA with her cat bernadette.
