i’ve had these saved for a while now as something i really want to try…i think now might be the time to do it.  they look so pretty and would add a nice warm glow to my apartment. there’s so many ways you can do it too…

you can make votives like these, from creature comforts, using any old jars you might have lying around and lace doilies.

these are pretty similar, made with small glasses or jars and lace trim from a fabric store.

votivethreethese cute little votives were made out of old catalogs by one of our craft swap participants!

and finally, you could take it a step further and try something like these:

how cool are these?? i especially love the hanging light- it wouldn’t be an easy project, but it looks AWESOME! check out the full tutorial over on design*sponge.

what a nice Wednesday surprise! Thanks, FPgirl Julia.
I like all of them. Can you have too many votives?
The tutorial for the panels is good, & I loved it that she used recycled paper.
Catalogue project #4 is underway!

What a great idea. I’ve always had a fascination with making intricate paper snowflakes. I think it stemmed from all the Holiday craft projects my mom would have for us to do as kids. I’ve been trying to think of unique ways to incorporate them into artworks, most recently making them and putting them into multi-media collage art pieces but never thought of anything like curtains or lampshades. They’re beautiful.
