i had never heard of angus & julia stone until last week, when fp jemma told me about them. i’m so glad she did because their music is beautiful and they also happen to have a new album coming out today called down the way! angus and julia are brother and sister and their music is as light and airy as these photos of them…listening to it feels like a bike ride on a summer day or dangling your legs off the end of a pier looking out at a sparkling lake. her voice has a similar quality to joanna newsom and his is its perfect complement – very soothing and understated. their music is simple and sweet, and a perfect soundtrack for spring and summer. their video for “mango tree” captures this essence to a t – watch:
