documerica

for the documerica project, the EPA hired freelance photographers to take pictures of subjects relating to environmental problems, EPA activities, and everyday life in america in the 1970s.  the resulting photographs are fascinating to look through, and many of them are quite beautiful.  i love the old, grainy quality of the photos…they make me long for a simpler time.  here are some of my favorites…

These are wonderful, thanks for the inspiration. I just recently got back into Photography and these are exactly the kinds of photos I love to take.

Wait, these are so awesome. I neeeeed to get myself a film camera asap so I can recreate this mastery. I always love the way disposable camera photos come out if the effect is intentional.

Wow, these totally remind me of my childhood. My dad was big into photography in the 70’s and we traveled cross country every summer. I think I need to dig out all of those photos now. Thanks for sharing.
