iceland destination: the blue lagoon
i am sooo jealous because while they were in iceland our team got to visit the blue lagoon! one of iceland’s top attractions, the blue lagoon is a natural hot spring of geothermal seawater that is probably not only incredibly relaxing, but its really good for your skin too. the lagoon is situated in a lava field, and the water temperature ranges from 98-102 degrees! it sounds, and looks, heavenly. plus there’s a restaurant and hotel there that overlook the lagoon!

wednes-diy
for today’s DIY i want to show you guys how to make snowflake panels like the ones in our new store displays! it’s actually really not as difficult as it looks, it just requires a lot of patience and good cutting skills :)

these panels immediately reminded me of a DIY i saw a while ago on design sponge – the only difference being the material. our team actually made ours out of paper first, and then had them laser cut out of felt.
what you need: paper or felt or whatever material you want to use (this is a great way to re-use old scrap paper or junk mail!), scissors, and glue or tape!
start by making as many paper snowflakes as you desire, in varying sizes, patterns and shapes – because no two snowflakes are alike ;) if you’ve never made a paper snowflake before, check out this tutorial.
once you have a bunch of snowflakes, start gluing them together where they overlap, alternating shapes and sizes as you please.
i’m going to keep adding to mine over the next few weeks!
for best results, hang your panel in front of a window and enjoy the patterns the sun leaves on the floor :)

the dramatic landscape of iceland was the perfect backdrop for the final chapter of our november catalog, wrap me in a sweater. rocky cliffs, open fields, wild horses, snow-capped glaciers, icy blue water that blends into the sky and a dreamy mist settling over it all…

as mentioned, chapter six of our november book was shot by eric kvatek. whenever i find out who is shooting our catalogs i immediately look up their websites to check out their work, because our team always picks such amazing photographers to work with. well this one is no different- here’s some of his photography that i love.
