today’s tunesday post is from fp jemma!
I went to see Sun Airway the other day at a Making Time event right here in Philly where the band originated from and my… it was more than I expected – with the effect of the computer as a compositional tool creating incredibly intricate, dense, churning synths with plastic-y MIDI sounds, blippy beats, and waves of voices. My mind felt like it was being lifted by a balloon into a sweet sound airwave.
They are constantly on my playlist with “your moon” being played about 5 times a day. They are a band you must check out!!!
when jemma sent me this post, i immediately looked up sun airway as i’m not familiar with them- and stumbled upon this video and sweet story on yours truly – it’s actually best explained in the hand written letter from the band:
as someone who also feels a very strong, albeit inexplicable, connection to john lennon, i found it really touching.
now listen to some more of their songs! thanks jemma!

I’ll be honest… I almost skipped over this post and wasn’t expecting anything great when I pressed play, but I’m so glad I did! They kind of remind me of Vampire Weekend and a mix of a few other indie groups I listen to. Thank you Jemma and I’m sorry I doubted you! :)
This is what i love about free people. Everybody is so open mineded to everything. very non judgmental and you all seem to have a sense of love for everything new and unknown. This is why i love free people, you guys pass on that love and open mindedness on to me. thank you. and great song:)
I love Sun Airway, so glad you wrote about them, and so jealous you saw them! :)
