in place of our usual wednes-diy, today i have something even better! tutorials showing you how to get the hair and makeup in our june e-catalog :)
day one of the shoot we worked in our home office studio with model martha hunt, who brought along her boyfriend to do her hair! he was terrific and it was very cute to hear them joke around playfully. he dubbed the look “fairy elf princess” and i think it fits perfectly! i love the little bits of pink he added in randomly and that he tied the ends of her hair with bits of leather and twine for a rugged, natural look.
jenny- it looks like there are at least 3. one on one side with all the hair gathered in it, and then two on the model’s right side with (i think) shorter layers of her hair gathered up in a shorter braid.
totally off topic, but this would be a hot hot mess in summer weather over here. looking forward to trying it in the fall.

@ Tory, probably some sort of texturizing spray to get a better grip on the hair. Dry shampoo also works..
Thanks for sharing it’s so adorable! I love the pop of color in the hair!

Amazing! What kind of colored spray is he putting in her hair? It can’t be spray paint is it? O.o
I love this braid! This is the perfect messy braid for the summer :)
I wish my boyfriend could do that to my hair!
Great style! love this….
I dig it!~ Can anyone explain what’s going on with the rest of her hair? Is there more than one braid in there or what?
