DO: Commit to a month of meditation
This week’s DO is one part about the benefits of meditation and one part about commitment.
Meditation allows us to stop our lives – to sit restfully and go inside of ourselves. The relaxing pause immediately brings a calm awareness that is not present in a hectic daily life. What is the mind doing? What thoughts or sensations are you conscious of? As you deepen into awareness during times of meditation you will find that this awareness begins to show up in various moments throughout the day, and life takes on a new quality of relaxation.
It’s hard to experience these outcomes the first time you meditate. You may be fidgety or skeptical, and unable to become internally aware. This is where commitment comes in. It’s easy to seek out the benefits, but without offering up true commitment they will be half-realized or nonexistent. Commitment involves not only doing something when it’s convenient, but also when there are ten million excuses not to. Commitment yields results. So, commit to meditating a few times a week for a month and you will find the rewards. It’s all about taking that first step and committing.

Screams summer warmth in the photographs. LOVE
Awesome! I just recently got very dedicated to meditating and even started writing posts about my “journey” on my blog. I think this post popping up right around this time just proves that I need to stick with it, ha! Very cool, FP, for writing about something like this!
