Beauty Guide

Our office coordinator is always amazingly put together. It’s hard not to notice her glowing skin, colored lips, and bold brows. Everyone knows these kind of results don’t come without knowing a thing or two, so I caught up with her to get an insider’s peak. She shares on all of her favorite products and has some great tips to give. I learned a lot and will definitely be trying out a thing or two.

Wash: I have two different face washes that I use.  One is just your standard Neutrogena face wash and the other is Burt’s Bees Peach and Willowbark scrub.   I only use the scrub 1-2 times per week because it will dry out my skin if I use it too often- it’s such a good exfoliator.

Remove: I don’t use a traditional make-up remover.  The face washes tend to do the trick except for right under my eyes.  To remove the black under my eyes I take a q-tip with a little bit of Vaseline on it and it comes right off!

Vitamins: I’ve been growing out my hair for a little while now and so I started taking Hair, Skin, and Nails vitamins for that.  I have noticed an improvement in my skin too!

Indulge: Once every couple months I’ll treat myself to a facial at a local salon. Usually while my boyfriend’s at band practice; I indulge in some “me” time.

Foundation: I don’t use a traditional foundation.  I’ve never found one that has felt light enough for me.  Instead, I use Kiel’s Ultra Facial Tinted Moisturizer. I love it! I’ve gotten a lot of friends hooked on this product as I’ve been using it for almost 10 years.  I use both Light and Medium, depending on the time of year. Love, love, love this product.

Blush: I have a few pink blushes I’ve bought but I usually just use a basic “baked” bronzer from CVS – I’ve found that they work pretty much the same as a Mac or Benefit bronzer but are much easier on the wallet.  I just brush a little on the cheek bones- nothing severe, just a light tint.

Eyeliner: I’ve had trouble in the past with eyeliners not staying on well.  So I’ve gone from pencil to liquid to now- gel.  I use Mac Fluidline Eye Liner Gel in black and I think I’ve found the one!

Mascara: I’m very grateful for my fairly thick, fairly long eyelashes.  I’ve never had to stress about mascara too much; as long as it was black I was happy.  Lately I’ve been using Maybelline’s The Falsies Blackest black, which is great!

Eyebrows: I’m Italian and have very dark, thick eyebrows which I used to hate but now embrace.  I use Anastasia products to groom them. Her eyebrow pencil is great to fill in the sparse places and keep them uniform and I also experiment with her eyebrow wax pencil sometimes.

Eye Lids: I used to have a HUGE passion for eye shadow, every visit to the mall ended with a new color eye shadow, mostly purchased from MAC.  Over the years I’ve moved on from this trend and moved into a full-out addiction to lipstick.  I only use a basic bronze color over my lids now to keep a down-play on the eyes so I can wear bright lips instead.

Lips: My favorite category, lipstick!! I could take up this whole page listing all the different shades I own, but I’ll stick to the top 4 (or 5).  My most recent purchase was NARS Pure Matte in Volva.  I was nervous about not liking the slim tube, but I actually love it. While I do love this particular NARS lipstick, my first choice brand is Make Up Forever.  My top pick from the brand is #8- Matte Bright Red followed by #40- Satin Bright Orange and a bright pink color from last year that I can’t find the number for- but it’s awesome. I also just bought my first (what I would consider) luxury lipstick from YSL and boy has it opened my eyes to a new world… a world that’s potentially very dangerous to my bank account.

I bought the tinted moisturizer today. I hate foundation and I have been using different tinted moisturizers and have been unsuccessful in finding one I love… There’s some likes but not a love yet. Haha! I hope it works! :)

Hmm it looks like your website ate my first comment (it was extremely
long) so I guess I’ll just sum it up what I had written and say,
I’m thoroughly enjoying your blog. I as well am an aspiring blog writer but I’m still new to everything.
Do you have any tips for first-time blog writers?

I’d certainly appreciate it.
