I like bands that are difficult to figure out. The ones that can’t be pin-holed as a certain genre, and are nearly impossible to describe when someone asks you “what kind of music is it?” Usually that means they’re doing something different, and that is definitely the case with Dale Earnhardt Jr. Jr.
Listening to their songs, each one is drastically different from the last. They go from indie rock to electro-pop to sweet breezy tunes like “Simple Girl” and have even covered the Beach Boys. I love the variety, and I also love their quirky image – I mean, the photos of them kill me… they seem like they’d be a ton of fun to hang out with.
I haven’t seen them live yet but I definitely will – I was so bummed to miss them at the POPPED! festival last month, I hear they put on an amazing high energy live show (think bright lights, colorful get-ups and bubbles).
Check out some of their tunes below, including the insanely catchy “Vocal Chords” which is featured on our latest store playlist!
