A few weeks ago I went to see one of my favorite bands, The National, play at the Academy of Music. There were two opening acts, and the first one was called Wye Oak, a band I’d never heard of. We missed their set, but I was curious so I looked them up. Big mistake – I totally regret not catching them live.
Wye Oak is a male/female duo consisting of Andy Stack (drums, keyboards, backup vocals) and Jenn Wasner (vocals, guitars). Their indie/rock/folk sound is intriguing and has an urgency that makes it all the more powerful. Check out a few of their tunes below and let me know what you think!

Sooo happy to see a post on these guys. I live in Baltimore, where they’re from, I’ve seen them a few times and they’re one of my favorites. Glad they’re getting the recognition they deserve!
