Tunesday: Youth Lagoon

I’ve been meaning to write about this album for a couple of weeks now – it’s pretty much been on repeat since I first listened to it. The Year of Hibernation is the debut album from Youth Lagoon, aka Trevor Powers (a former urban employee!) who has seen incredible success from the LP, which he recorded in his bedroom.

It’s one of those albums that sounds as if it’s coming through muffled speakers – its opening song “posters” starts out with soft vocals and quiet keys before bursting into a mesmerizing beat that grabs your attention and holds it until the album ends. It’s perfect day dreaming music, to listen to on a lazy weekend afternoon, lying on the floor, gazing at the ceiling and letting thoughts drift in one ear and out the other. Check it out below and let me know what you think!

I’m learning SO much about cameras! I’m using my husband’s Nikon and I’m still intimidated by it. I loved your post and the picture of camera in camera was a lot of fun! .I need a LOT of practice. I’m still getting photos that are too blue or too yellow. I’m trying to play with light. Baby steps.
