Blogger Diary: The Past Three Weeks

Writing a blogger diary every three weeks, sometimes it’s hard to pick just one thing to talk about. Life has been a whirlwind – a good one, but nonetheless – a whirlwind.

Last week, as you all saw, we threw a party here in Philadelphia for the opening of our Walnut Street store. I saw two months of hard work culminate with a festive night of happy faces. The satisfaction of watching it all pay off was unreal. Leading up to that point, my head had been 1 million mile-per-minute thoughts. I took the following day off, and just let myself sit in the happiness, appreciating the calm.

I’ve also been enjoying the city a lot lately. Hopping from one spot to the next, discovering and observing – I love the grit and the beauty of urban life. There’s always someplace new to go, and there are always the old favorites to return to. You can run by a river, and then shop down skyscraper-lined streets, listening to your feet clack, clack against the cement.

Rather than give you more long-winded stories to recount the past three weeks, here are three current obsessions which will mark this time in my memories:

  1. My friends and I can’t stop listening to Gotye’s, “Somebody I used to know,” which is the first track on my current playlist.
  2. On the weekends, I tend to like blogs that I can actually sit down and read. Roost Blog, Paper Castles Press, and Mystic Mamma have been my go-to’s.
  3. I picked up the Ikat Printed Balloon Pants in the black combo color way. Yoga, brunch, napping – they’ve barely left my body since. It’s safe to say, I’m obsessed.

Paper Castles Press…I was about to click on the first link you gave but was mysteriously drawn to this one instead…come to find out, it’s the blog of the sister of the girl that’s been my idol since grade school when I used to carefully tape magazine pictures over ever inch of my walls. Gemma was the most popular face in my room. Thank you for providing this new opportunity for inspiration…what a fantastic writer Sophie Ward is. ..

If you like Gotye’s version you should see the walk off the earth version with the five person guitar it’s crazy! I’ve been obsessed with that version.
