Beekman Street Palace

At 5 Beekman Street in Manhattan, there is a large but unassuming building that is completely empty and abandoned, with much of the interior shuttered since 1940. Few are allowed inside, depriving the general public of the ability to witness its surprisingly stunning interior – and it won’t be this way for long, as it was recently purchased by hotelier André Balasz. The derelict interior provided an intriguing backdrop for our shoot, contrasting perfectly with the soft, girly pastels of our lookbook.

That building is amazing!! I was always told, when places sit abandoned for way too long without people in them, they eventually deteriorate because they need human beings to keep them alive. So I am glad that someone has decided to do something with this beautiful building.

That hallway looks EXACTLY like the one in my high school (except for the fact that it’s renovated and has a giant swirling staircase in the middle of it)
