DIY Inspiration: Resurrection Fern

I first discovered Resurrection Fern a couple of years ago, and the woman behind it, Margaret Oomen, has been inspiring me ever since. Her blog is full of beautiful photography, nature, DIY ideas, and of course her many amazing crochet covered rocks. One of the coolest things about her little projects is that she uses fabrics and materials that she dyed herself using natural ingredients – it was her blog that inspired me to try out my own natural dye experiment! Since I have not yet mastered the art of crochet, I thought I’d share some inspiration – and you can check out a tutorial Margaret put together for some of her stones here, and photos documenting the process of her “missing pieces stone” here.

How pretty are these – she simply put the leaves on the stone, covered with a layer of cheese cloth, and hammered them!

Hi I tried the cheesecloth over leafs on rocks to make prints. It didn’t work, it just mushed up the leaf and there was some color but no shape. I was wondering if I’m doing this wrong somehow. Does anyone know a website that describes the process or have any experience?
