Makeup Monday: Highlighting your Cheekbones

Post image for Makeup Monday: Highlighting your Cheekbones

Highlighting your cheekbones can perform miracles to the structure of your face. Full face or a narrow face, this technique works for both! I went up to the studio and talked with our makeup artist to find out a quick and easy way to contour your cheekbones.

Use a highlighting cream that has an illumination in it, it’s best to stay away from anything too shimmery. We love Kevyn Aucoin Gleam, it’s a lightweight formula that highlights the skin by adding soft shimmer and subtle pigment – it’s silky and glides on perfectly. Press the cream on the outside brow bone to open the eye then work along your raised cheekbone plotting lightly.

Then contour them by using a slightly darker shade in the hallow area of your cheeks – we recommend the creamy Bronzer by Nars called Cap Vert. It’s best to suck in your cheeks when applying this; it will enhance the effect. Don’t overdo it, the more subtle the better! Then, you’re done and your face will become a little more framed to start your day

Here’s the product our makeup artist recommended: Kevyn Aucoin Gleam Mousse and Nars Creamy Bronzer in Cap Vert
