Holton Rower is a New York City based artist who creates these incredible large-scale psychedelic works that consist of multiple layers of carefully doctored and poured paint. Don’t let the simple concept fool you – these paintings are the result of a lot of time, patience and extraordinary attention to detail. Check out the video below that documents the process of making one of the pieces, which are on display at The Hole NYC through the end of the month. I would love to see these beauties in person!

my friend posted this video on my Facebook wall last summer! It’s such a great idea! I tried it myself –on a smaller scale of course– and it works great! The coolest thing about these installations, is that they are all different, and they can’t be planned on what they will turn out to be!
