How To Create A Summer Atmosphere In Your Home

Post image for How To Create A Summer Atmosphere In Your Home

Now that summer is officially here, it’s time to make your home feel like it! Here are my tips on creating a summer atmosphere in your home:

Bring the Outdoors In

Indoor Ivy

Fill your home with indoor plants and fresh flowers – everywhere! I’m talking your bedroom, kitchen… even your bathroom! A plant-filled home will have you feeling that summertime high all day long.

Open Your Windows

Open White Window

Summer heat can be so unbearable that you want to put your AC on full blast the moment you wake up. Fight the urge for just an hour! Open all the windows in your home for one hour, as soon as you wake up. Nothing beats a cool, morning summer breeze and that distinct summer smell that comes with it. The unmistakable natural scent will infiltrate your home – it can’t be duplicated by any “Summer Breeze” air freshener, no matter how hard you try. Bonus: filling your home with fresh air before the weather starts to warm up will cool down your home naturally, so you won’t have to turn on your AC just yet!

Hang Mirrors Opposite Your Windows

Pretty Blue Eclectic Bathroom

No light bulb can truly mimic the brightness of the summer sun, but mirrors can make it brighter! Hanging mirrors on a wall directly across from a window will reflect a maximum amount of natural light, making your home as bright and sunny as possible.

Switch your Bedding

White Summer Bed

Swap out those heavy comforters for fresh sheets and cool, lightweight blankets. You’ll go to bed happy and wake up feeling ready for a new summer day!

Walk Around Barefoot

Bare Legs, Bare Feet

Challenge yourself to go barefoot for an entire day. The ability to hop out of bed barefoot, walk straight across a hardwood floor and onto the grass without having to think about putting shoes on your feet is something that only summer can allow. Plus, it gives you all the more reason to show off those bright-colored toenails you may just-so-happen to be sporting.

I love to pick a few flowers from the garden and brighten up my living room with it. It’s so simple but looking at a little pretty flower just makes me happy.

Windows open every day, check. Light weight blankets,.check. Now I’ll have to add fresh flowers. Mirrors facing windows is an excellent idea. It can also save you on electricity.

absolutely amazing advice… and to add on to the one with the mirrors, just fill the whole wall opposite of a window with mirrors.

Hey,
The idea has the ‘woooow’ factor, simply superb. The light blue colour and photo-frames in bathroom is amazing. Such fruity colours, too good.
