New Music: Beat Connection, The Palace Garden

Get your day started on the right foot with some new music from Seattle based quartet Beat Connection, whose new LP The Palace Garden is out today.

The band was formed by members Jordan Koplowitz and Reed Juenger in 2008 when they were freshmen at the University of Washington and released their debut EP Surf Noir in 2011. The aptly titled album was full of electro-pop beats reminiscent of a warm, late summer evening like “In the Water” and “Sunburn.” They recently added two new members to the group, lead vocalist Tom Eddy and drummer Jarred Katz, and on The Palace Garden they explore a fuller sound while still making music that is light, catchy and perfect for this time of year. Check out the track “Palace Garden, 4am” below – it sounds like the theme song for a tropical summer getaway :)

Beat Connection is touring right now in support of the album – I’m looking forward to catching them at Kung Fu Necktie in Philly on July 3rd – check out their tour dates to see if they’ll be in your hood!
