Today we’re headed up to Wanderlust. The festival is located at Stratton Mountain Ski Resort in Bondville, VT and begins just in time for the Summer Solstice! We’ll be sponsoring the teacher’s lounge, and after all the hard work, we’ll get to whipping out our best downward dogs as we stretch to live music and pour sweat in classes lead by top yoga instructors. I couldn’t be more excited for the getaway and to give my mind and body some love and attention. I’ll be sure to report back on all the great things I learn and the fun experiences.
Who else is planning to be there? What classes are you taking? See below for a list of the classes I’m hoping to make it to.
Thurs 8am: Smart Sequence Flow: Sweetness and Sweat to Deepen Your Practice
I definitely want to do a bright and early yoga class at least two of the days that we’ll be there. There’s nothing like waking up to getting your body moving with a great yoga class, and I think it will just get me off on the right foot.
I like that the instructor, Ame’s, teaching style is really a blend of all types of yoga. It’s always fun when you find a teacher with creative flows, and a practice that is the result of their own personal experiences. They say that she is known for lacing her yoga classes with wisdom and humor which sounds great to me.
Thurs 10:30am: Balancing Your Health with Ayurveda
I’ve always been intrigued with Ayurveda and dabbled in it here and there, but I’ve never actually met a real life practitioner. This class is led by Hilary Grarivaltis who has 12 years of experience teaching Ayurvedic daily living tools and therapy techniques. I’m excited to be able to learn more about it from something other than the computer screen. It is something that I would love to make a larger part of my life and well-being.
Fri 10am: Ganesh: Remover of Obstacles
I have a Ganesh from Indonesia in my home. Their mystical powers and symbolism are truly alluring. This vinyasa class will have stories and teachings from the Ganesh recited throughout. It will be a great way to get my mind and body flowing at the same time. I can’t wait to feel the elephant deity’s energies affecting obstacles and allowing me further into my yoga practice.
Fri 2pm: Mythic Flow (Part 1): Kali Ma
This class, in honor of Kali the goddess of radical affirmation, is nothing like any other classes I have taken before. The description says that, “she is adhya; the original, organic, authentic, primal, nurturing darkness from which all life arises.” The class will be all about legs and hips – grounding yourself and opening up. I often feel like it would be nice to feel like my feet are more firmly planted on the ground, so I’m really curious to experience this class.
