Our Graphic Design Assistant is a ray of delight! Whenever you see her in the office she’s always wearing the nicest of outfits and you know for sure she has an inspired mind that you want to know more about. This week we caught up with her to find out what her current obsessions are!
I’m most inspired by fashion, graphic design, my surroundings and the people I know.
1. Greenwich Village, New York
I lived in the Village for four years and my favorite way to get inspired was to wander. I love going back to walk down Bleecker St. and get a vegan cupcake at Babycakes on the LES.
Whether it’s packaging, signage, publications, calligraphy or vintage ephemera, I’m always inspired by lettering! I love this book cover design by Paul Rand that I recently came across.
3. Vogue Paris Collections Issue
Paris Vogue releases their Collections issue twice a year, and I’m always waiting anxiously to find the next issue on newsstands. I collect every issue so that I can keep a full library of the collections at home. I love style.com, but there is just something about having it on paper.
4. The Tales of the Unexpected editorial in British Vogue, December 2008.
Tim Burton is one of my favorite artists. Although I favor Edward Scissorhands over his current enterprises, I think he’s a visionary, AND Tim Walker is among my favorite fashion photographers, so when they paired up for this spread in British Vogue, I was in awe!
