Hair How-To: Learn Prairie Braids From Our Video

UPDATE: This post previously ran on August 3rd, but as we have a long weekend to celebrate the holiday, we thought it be a good time to bring it back.

Nothing’s more perfect than beautiful braids for the summer. Whether you’re going to the beach, a wedding, or just simply strolling around in the day, they create a simple yet intricate look that makes you feel all angelic. Here hair stylist Amy Farid – who did the hair styles for our July book – shows us step by step how to create a hairstyle that will make you feel as pretty as can be.

Is it just me or did that look gross? I like the pulling apart of the braid to make it look messy but leaving all that hair teased and frizzy at the bottom was not aesthetically pleasing at all.

I like the braid part but do not like the frizzy bottom look. Leave it natural and it will look much better!

Good guideline for prairie braids, but I agree to make them your own…. And they tell you the name of the song at the end of the video

This is soooo pretty and will go great with my hair type, which is basically how the model’s hair looked after all the wax and product was put in it :)
