When I heard about our trend for this week, a dramatic, spell-binding look we called Dark Side of the Moon, it immediately brought to mind Stevie Nicks and her inspirational style as well as other artists like Florence Welch, Alison Mosshart, and Karen Elson. I have always admired the style of these women and the way they are able to wear bewitching pieces like long, flowing, fringed, or embellished maxi dresses, luxe fabrics, top hats, statement makeup, and not look over the top. They translate this look into an everyday wardrobe that they can pull off any time of year – not just in the month of October. Here are some of the musical muses that come to mind with our latest trend.

It’s impossible to think of this trend without envisioning Stevie Nicks, the original gold dust woman…her style will forever inspire.
With her fiery red hair and bold style choices Florence Welch definitely embodies this trend, and when she sings she casts a spell on anyone who is listening.
Alison Mosshart is one of my absolute favorites. Her style reminds me a bit of a mad hatter at times but in such a good way. Dark eyes, a black hat, and piled on rings are part of her signature style.
Model/musician Karen Elson has always reminded me of Florence Welch with her red hair and vintage wardrobe, but she definitely has a style all her own that gives her a commanding presence. She mixes vintage and modern in a unique and interesting way.

I love this! I think A/W always need a dark element.
