Alexandra Valenti has long been one of my favorite photographers and I was fortunate enough to spend time with her when she shot our July catalog last year. In addition to her insane talent she is one of the coolest women I’ve met and her style is perfectly bohemian with some Austin rock’n’roll mixed in. She is a great friend to the Free People family and we’re so excited to feature her as one of our style muses this month! Get to know more about Alexandra below and get inspired by her style as captured by fellow Austin photographer Davis Ayer.
Get the look: Colored Skinny Jean, We The Free Moon Child Graphic Tee, Stonewash Retro Classic Sneaker.
Describe your personal style in three words.
Tomboy but feminine.
What is your go-to outfit?
Jeans and a thin, shredded, sleeveless t shirt, Moroccan bracelet cuffs and my favorite Heyoka necklace.
Who are your personal style icons?
Some of my dude friends are so styled out in the most effortless way. It’s like 70s dirt biker meets craftsman steez. Also my ridiculously stylish friends from Sisters of The Black Moon. And I have always loved Ali McGraw’s & Julie Christie’s style during the 70s.
Get the look: Printed Maxi, Star Cuff, Metal Armadillo Bracelet.
What is your must-have beauty product?
Coconut Oil and Creme de la Mer (my biggest extravagance, so expensive it’s embarrassing)…and Chanel Moisture Rich Foundation. I just discovered it, it’s the jam!
What essential items do you always have with you when traveling?
My insanely expensive face cream, Keratin hair serum, and eye drops.
What is the best beauty tip you’ve ever learned?
STAY OUT OF THE SUN! And if you can’t, always wear a TON of sunblock. I’m paying for it dearly now as I didn’t do this when I was a teenager….
Colored Denim Cutoff Shorts, Runaway Muscle Tee, Lee Boot.
Favorite healthy snack?
The Tiger Lily green juice from Juice Land in Austin, Texas. It has cucumber, celery, kale, spinach, parsley, and wheatgrass (& I add hemp seeds and marine phytoplankton to the mix). And I’m pretty addicted to avocado on toast with garlic sea salt and one drop of The Sword’s Tears of Fire hot sauce. So good.
Most-played album on your iPod right now:
I’m loving the Father John Misty Cd…
