DIY: Applique Cuffs For Your Winter Coat

Product: Mason Jar Lanterns, Fjord Ice Ring

Come winter all I seem to wear almost every day is my winter coat, and I must admit it does get a little boring. Your outfit changes underneath of course but because of the biting chill your coat becomes your number one piece for commuting. Over these last couple of weeks I’ve been thinking about ways to mix it up a little, adding in certain details that can make a difference, like brooches, a colorful scarf, embroideries or…an applique cuff that is so easy and quick to achieve.

A simple way to add newness to your coat, here’s how:

What you need:

Your winter coat

Some crochet trim, I used a small crochet table runner that I found at a flea market

A needle and thread

Scissors

Cut the crochet trim to a pattern you like for your coat, I chose to use a right angle shape for mine. Then place the crochet to see if you like it before you start sewing.

Then, when you’re happy, start securing the placement with your needle and thread.

And there you have it, an updated winter coat!
