5 Essential Beauty Products For Travel

For me, one of the hardest parts about traveling is deciding which beauty products to take along with me. I’m a product fiend, and when I can’t take all 600 of my beloved potions on a trip with me, I just don’t feel like myself. In an effort to combat this issue, I’ve come up with 5 beauty products that I think should serve as staples in your travel beauty kit. When it comes to travel, it’s all about size, convenience, and multiple uses. What would you add to this list?

5 Essential Travel Beauty Products

1. Dry shampoo
Whenever I take a plane, my freshly washed hair always seems to become oily, no matter how long the flight is! Dry shampoo is my savior in this instance (and just in everyday life) because it gives your hair that just-washed look and feel. Lately I’ve been loving Aveeno Pure Renewal Dry Shampoo because in addition to leaving my hair looking fresh, clean, and silky, it smells absolutely amazing. (Another option: make your own!)

2. Oil absorbing sheets
So, my hair’s not the only thing that generates oil when I travel. My face always wants to join in on the fun. To combat an oily face, I love to use oil absorbing sheets like Boscia Blotting Linens – and I actually just found out about an option that I like even better! This may gross some of you out, but you can get results that are just as amazing using a TOILET SEAT COVER. You know what I’m talking about – those paper barriers that are available in most public restrooms. They’re actually made from the same rice paper as oil blotting sheets – and they work just as well. If you can get past the uncomfortable idea of using something on your face that’s meant for a toilet seat, I urge you to try it. You might just be amazed.

3. Petroleum jelly
Are you guys aware of all the uses of petroleum jelly? This stuff can be used as a lip balm, a moisturizer, a split-end quick fix, a makeup remover, and about 30 other things. What does this mean for you? It means you don’t have to worry about packing your lip balm, your moisturizer, and probably all of the other beauty supplies you were planning on bringing, because petroleum jelly will do it for you. My favorite is tried-and-true Vaseline, and I love that it’s so easy to find in a travel size.

4. Makeup removing wipes
As I said before, when it comes to traveling, convenience plays a huge role. You never really know where you’ll be at what time and what will be available to you. Makeup removing wipes like Korres Milk Proteins Wipes are incredible because they’re an entire face wash regimen in one simple wipe. You don’t even have to worry about being near a sink. You can just wipe and go.

5. Lip & cheek stain
This double whammy is a definite no-brainer when it comes to traveling. Just add a splash of color to your lips and cheeks as soon as the plane touches down and you’ll arrive looking fresh-faced and ready for everything. I love Benefit Benetint, one of the highest-rated on the market.

pure coconut oil is a more holistic product that does everything vaseline can do, plus you can eat it : )
sounds crazy, but i use it to wash my face ~ it dissolves oil & makeup, and leaves my skin super soft.
{use it like old-fashioned cold cream: massage it into wet skin & gently buff it off with a warm washcloth.}
it is solid at room temperature, making it very easy to travel with.

I’m with Catie about the coconut oil. I use it all over & my skin has never felt so great in my entire life.
BUT
Despite being a Huge fan of dry shampoo, don’t take it unless you’re checking your bag!! It’s over the permitted ounceage. I’ve had many a fresh can of Pssssst! taken away going thru security. Only Bumble & Bumble make a smaller can.

When flying, I always buy a big bottle of water before getting on the plane. My skin feels tight and I get a headache if I don’t have my water to sip throughout the flight!

Are youy aware that in item 3 you mentioned that Vaseline is a makeup remover, rendering other products unnecessary yet list a makeup remover in item 4?

When I travel I try to bring the least amount of products…I hate traveling with alot of stuff so I always opt for the Vaseline…just easy. For everyday use, I either go for the Vaseline, Coconut Oil or Olive Oil…it works for me <3 I have the most insane curly hair – so the dry shampoo does wonders…I wear very little makeup so I use origins lip & cheek stain products…nothing else – keep it simple!

Because of eczema, Vaseline bothers my skin. I love Waxelene- it’s made with bee’s wax and other natural ingreidients. They have their own website or you can buy it at CVS, Bed Bath and Beyond and probably lots of other places.

When flying, I always acquire a big container of water prior to jumping on the airplane. My skin feels limited and also I obtain a frustration if I don’t have my water to drink throughout the flight!
