First Looks From Art Basel!

Whenever you’re in Miami, you can’t help but feel energized and full of life, and during Art Basel the energy triples. Yesterday was my first day attending one of the biggest art shows in the world and if I’m honest, it was pretty overwhelming. Thought provoking art in every medium imaginable was before me and fashion was at its very best. The Convention Centre was where I spent the duration of the day, it’s where the main Art Basel exhibit is held.

Here I saw Shepard Fairey and Jen Stark, artworks by a number of my favorite artists including Tracey Emin (shown above), and Nick Cave. The fashion was cool, artistic, and for sure stood out. I finished the evening strolling through the Midtown area where I ate at a great noodle bar called Gigi’s, and then on the ride home I caught a glimpse of the prominent art walls of Wynwood, which I can’t wait to return to in daylight. Art Basel’s first day was a great day, everything I would expect from one of the world’s leading Art shows.
