UPDATE: This post originally ran on November 12th 2012 but we love using party paint for New Year’s Eve so we wanted to bring it back for inspiration!
I was a huge fan of our festival paint this past spring and summer so when I heard we were getting some gorgeous new colors for parties and the holiday season, I couldn’t wait to test them out. I asked the talented artists on our graphic design team to have some fun with the party paint as inspiration for how to use it – here’s what they came up with!

How To Use Party Paint: The paint comes in different color combinations in little plastic cases – don’t let their small size deceive you, either, because a little bit of paint goes a very long way! To apply the paint we use water and a small paint brush. Simply dip the brush in water and dab into the paint palette, and apply right to the skin. The colors hold up remarkably well, but also can be washed off easily with soap and water.
The new colors are perfect for fall and have a really nice subtle shimmer to them – ideal for holiday parties and New Year’s Eve!

One of our other graphic designers took a more tribal approach and it looks so cool – how genius are those turquoise lines over the finger nails? It’s an amazing alternative to nail polish. I also love the copper “ring” around the top of the finger.

If you’re feeling daring, there are some really fun ways to use Party Paint on the face as well – I love the idea of a single line down the center of the eye.

You can spice up your look by using the paint in really subtle ways, too – I love putting small dots below the fingernails. Wearing Motif Midi Rings and Free People Polish in Rose Gold.
