DIY Flower Fedora Pin

If you hadn’t noticed, we’re kind of head over heels for fedoras right now. They have this magic ability to look good with everything, from a long, flowing maxi dress to jeans and a t-shirt. I pinned a few images on Pinterest of girls wearing fedoras with cute flowers on them, and with our trend for the week being Wildflower I was inspired to make some flower fedora pins! They are so easy to make, and are such a sweet addition to a fedora for a unique, bohemian twist. I especially love the fact that you can make a bunch and switch them up depending on your mood!

What you need: A fedora (check out our awesome selection!), fake flowers (I got mine at A.C. Moore), a hot glue gun, and metal clamps (you can find these in the jewelry section of most craft stores).

Select the flower you want to use and remove it from the stem – most fake flowers just pop right off.  I felt like this one needed a little green so I used a leaf as well.

Cut off any remaining stem so that you have a flat surface on the back of the flower.

If you want to add some green, use the hot glue gun to attach the leaf to the back of the flower.

Next, use the hot glue gun to attach the metal clamp.  If your fedora doesn’t have a band of any sort, use a pin instead so that you can pin the flower to the hat!

Make as many pins as you like! I made three, and mixed and matched them with the hats to see which combination I liked best.

I love the combination of the deep red with the black Wide Brim Fedora. I think this would look cute with a long white maxi dress!

The red flower also looks awesome on the Leather Band Fedora! I would wear this one with boyfriend jeans and an easy tee.

The Clipperton Fedora looked good with all of the flowers :).

Brigette chose the Clipperton Fedora and dark red flower – I love the free-spirited touch of boho it adds to her look. Which one is your favorite?

Shop fedoras :).
