With flowers on our mind this month, we can’t stop thinking about different ways in which they intrigue us. Edible flowers have graced dishes for centuries, it isn’t a new thing or a new fad, but right now we just happen to be hooked on some of the beautiful dishes we are seeing.
As we are slowly leaving winter behind, mixing flowers into main dishes, salads, soups, desserts, and drinks will get you into good spirits. There are two types of edible flowers: ornamental flowers and herbal flowers. The herbal flowers can be slightly tasteless, like their stems and leaves, however it is said that all edible flowers have good health benefits. Borage is said to help us forget our troubles and marigolds are said to bring happiness.

Broccoli flowers are also edible! I volunteer at my campus’s farm and we tried them. They are little pale yellow flowers and they taste just like broccoli, but slightly milder.
We’re still a long way from spring here in Canada, but hopefully I’ll be able to try one of these beautiful dishes come June [especially that amazing-looking pizza]. xx
you can just put little flowers in the thing you make your ice cubes and than you have little flower ice cubes
What a gorgeous pizza! (That’s not something you say everyday, lol)
Have a beautiful day!
