On of the things of my bucket list is to visit the seven wonders of the world, from The Great Wall of China to the Taj Mahal. I want to visit India, Mexico, Brazil, Italy, China, Peru, and Jordan and tick the great monuments that these countries carry off my list. It would be an incredible achievement.The Taj Mahal is known as the jewel of Muslim art in India, it’s admired greatly worldwide and is one of the masterpieces of the world. It’s architecture and the attention to detail is breathtaking. With such majestic beauty you could stand for hours exploring every little detail.
The Chichen Itza in Yacatan, Mexico it’s the focal point of the Maya Lowlands and goes back all the way to AD 600-900. It’s layers and layers of stone draw around 1.2 million tourists a year.
Christ the Redeemer in Brazil is a statue of Jesus Christ in Rio de Janerio is the largest Art Deco statue in the world. It’s a strong symbol of Brazilian Christianity, situated on top of Corcovado Mountain and powerfully looks over Guanabara Bay.
The Colosseum in Italy is the largest ever built by the Roman Empire. It is considered one of the greatest works of Roman architecture and engineering. The colosseum was used for gladiator contests and could seat 50,000 spectators.
The Great Wall of China was built across the northern boarder of China to protect the Chinese Empire against intrusion. It was built in the 7th Century BC and measures 8,850 km!
Machu Picchu in Peru is a 15th century Inca site. It is said that Machu Picchu was built as an estate for the Incan emperor, it is the most familiar icon of Incan Civilization, to walk the Inca trail is an ultimate dream of mine.
Petra (meaning stone) is located in Jordan, it’s famous for it’s rock cut architecture and water conduit system. It was established as early as 312 BC. It’s a strong symbol of Ma’an Governorate.
