We Dare You: Bikinis In Winter

Lately I’ve found myself getting caught up looking at our incredible swim collection online, just wishing and wishing for warmer weather. From the fun fringe and crochet styles to the striking patterns, I keep thinking to myself “but I want to wear these NOW.” And then I had a little realization. Bikini tops are pretty much just awesome-looking bras in water-friendly fabrics, right? So we don’t really HAVE to save them for beach. Whenever I buy a new swimsuit but spring hasn’t hit yet, I always find myself wearing it my house just because it makes me feel like warmer weather is on its way. So why not take that one step further?

I dare you to replace your bra with a bikini top tomorrow. Wear it with a sheer or off-the-shoulder top for a fun pop, or keep it hidden underneath as your own little secret. I guarantee it will have you in that warm-weather mood all day long.

Racerback Bikini Top

Off the Shoulder Tunic

The Hiker Racer Back Top has an awesome sporty back detail. I love it with a top like the Peasant Tunic worn waaaay off your shoulder! (I’m also currently obsessed with the Seasonal Moon Necklace shown above).

The Peace Train Underwire Top has a beautiful print that I just can’t get enough of. Here I’m wearing it with the brand new We the Free Blakely Tee and Sight of Day Necklace. I love all the soft colors together. ALSO, if you’re as in love with the bikini as I am, take a little gander at our Peace Train Cali Dress – same exact print!!

I love the way the Solid Low Back Cami shows off the gorgeous back of the Voodoo Bandeau Bikini – worn with the Roll the Stone Cuff for some added fun.

I say bikinis in the winter are the way to go. What do you say?

  1. 3 years ago i bought this beautifully tye dyed bustier/corset bikini top and ever since i wear it with anything i can get away with. as a bra, pop of color under loose fitting tops, to electronic shows and of course music festivals, or even with a long flowing skirt or jean shorts on a hot summer day :)

  2. I’ve always wanted to buy one of fp’s adorable bikinis but usually the reviews say that busty girls should stay away and they’re better suited for girls with smaller chests. Can anyone recommend a style that could be good for someone who is a 34D or bigger?

  3. I just bought the Fringe Halter Top in white and paired it with the Emmi Reversible Bottoms to wear on my trip to Mexico next week! I tried them on and they are perfect!! Katie I would go for this top in a medium. That’s what I bought and I am a 36C. My store manager also purchased it in a medium and she is a D cup. Definitely go for the suits without a structured cup and I would say stick to Mediums and larges. Hope this helps!!

  4. I feel like bikini tops offer little or no support to us larger busted girls. Unless there’s some kind of thick lining or underwire, it’s not for us! I prefer to stay tasteful unless in a place where you aren’t having to rely on your top to be functional (laying on the beach, you won’t move around so much). Would be nice to be included in this article! I envy those with a cute, modest bust that could easily get away with it, Perhaps in my next reincarnation

  5. I love these tops but personally I don’t like a halter bikini top as a bra. The racerback one is cute though.
