March 21–April 19
Happy New Year! The sun moves into your sign this week, marking the Spring Equinox and the start of a new astrological year. Venus soon follows suit, upping your magnetism, while the sun ups your inspiration. But mental Mercury lags behind, and although it will gradually pick up speed now that it’s gone direct, it’s still in sleepy Pisces, making your thinking more sluggish than your energy. Speaking of energy, when kinetic Mars, your ruling planet, aligns with rebellious Uranus in Aries, you’re suddenly unstoppable. The urgent upheaval you’ve experienced in the last couple of years acquires extra force now, and you could surprise even yourself with abrupt action. Coming up with an innovative method for doing something will help to speed the rate of change in your life for the better. Fighting for the freedom to be uniquely yourself is another positive manifestation of the Mars-Uranus conjunction in your sign. But you may find that the excitement in your head doesn’t match up too well with the reality of a life that’s not only about you. The practicalities of sharing your life with someone else could bring you back down to earth. It doesn’t have to be either/or, so don’t get deflated; you’re on an upswing.
April 20–May 20
Taurus is a physical sign, operating on the material plane, but when the sun and Venus enter your spirituality sector this week, they remind you that you’re more than a body; you have a soul. You may need more time alone in the coming weeks to rest, reflect and tend to your soul in whatever way feels right to you. Seemingly out-of-the blue feelings of impatience or aggression could rip you out of your reverie when feisty Mars and impetuous Uranus collide, but taking a nonjudgmental stance in looking at where these feelings are coming from can lead to a valuable discovery. What is unsettled in you and seeking outlet and expression? Further disruption could occur when righteous Jupiter in your worth zone forms an awkward angle with realistic Saturn in your partnership house. It may seem like a relationship or a person is keeping you from espousing your values, growing your money or feeling good about yourself. These competing interests aren’t easily reconciled, and that fact could cause temporary discomfort. Make an effort to grasp what’s kindling the conflict.
May 21–June 20
Your ruling planet just went direct, helping to put you back in the rhythm of interacting with others, and now two planets enter your networking zone, enhancing your social life further. You’ll feel more like seeking out company than you have in the last several weeks. But a frictional meeting between Mars and Uranus introduces the potential for serious volatility in group settings. The best use of this event would be to find a positive way to break the rules of society. What iconoclastic action on your part could greatly benefit others? You may also be hit with a brilliant idea for what’s next on your agenda, since you’re in the process of shifting gears with your goals. Adapt your massive expectations now to what’s working. When you get too carried away in your thinking, it may not mesh with practical concerns such as health, day-to-day duties and job responsibilities.
June 21–July 22
When the sun and Venus glide into your ambition angle this week, they’ll push you onto the radar. You have a real chance to shine in your career, but overly quick action that goes against your cautious nature could rattle you. There’s bound to be an outburst, but knowing that, perhaps you can aim for a bursting forth of energy as opposed to a violent disturbance. Try to think of the highest manifestation possible for exploding on a public stage. You can be conspicuous in a good way. Complicating matters, your unconscious expectations are at odds with what’s really going on with you creatively or romantically. You’re secretly optimistic, but pragmatism may prevail as the reality of commitment or your seriousness about artistic expression dominates. Your creative work or love life might not be living up to hopes that you aren’t even fully aware of. Uncovering those hopes is a good start.
July 23–August 22
Your enthusiasm builds as your ruling planet the sun blazes into your vision sector, followed by beautiful Venus. You’re drawn to new adventures, fuelled by a pleasing view of the future. But unceremonious assertion of your beliefs could shatter this pretty picture. You have an opportunity to pursue your unique path, to follow your own individual philosophy, to take decisive action based on your faith. Resist the urge to attempt to lead others down your personal path. Going too far with people could unsteady your own foundation now. The hopes you place on others might make you feel ungrounded. Check in with your emotional gut when it comes to optimism about your next move, and try to strike a balance between extreme liberalism and extreme conservatism.
August 23–September 22
The allure of feeling close to someone increases, as the vitalizing sun and amorous Venus dance into your intimacy zone. You’ll come to life more in one-on-one relationships than anywhere else now, desiring an intense connection. But conflict stemming from mistrust or jealousy could arise when warrior Mars runs into detached Uranus. An impulsive sexual encounter might also result from these two planets coming together. The positive spin is that you could be more willing to take a risk to get close to someone. Strange as it sounds, you could also utilize this energy for avant-garde research and investigating something for the benefit of humankind. Other possibilities: rapid self-transformation and deep sharing that seems to come out of nowhere. Also this week, a cynical mindset could keep your ambition in check. Aiming too high is a problem, but so is self-doubt. Look for the happy medium.
September 23–October 22
The sun and your ruler Venus cross your relationship angle this week (Venus’s natural domain), bringing extra focus to this area of your life. You’re used to thinking in terms of “we”—not just romantic partnerships per se, but relations of all sorts. You’re simply not a solo sign. But when fiery Mars and disruptive Uranus come together in this house later in the week, confrontation is likely. This needn’t be a negative, because it could teach you directness. If you tend to sugarcoat and equivocate, this can be a lesson in putting something across cleanly and starkly. It will be so tempting to see aggression as something merely coming at you from the outside, and someone will take on the role of warrior Mars if you go the projection route. But you are trying to get something across that requires an audience, a customer, a response. Own that. At week’s end, the upbeat philosophy you’ve been adopting isn’t jibing with a restrictive self-image or the reality of your finances, and you’ll need to seek a meeting place between optimism and pessimism to get past this.
October 23–November 21
When the sun makes its way into your efficiency house this week, it lends more vitality to your work. And Venus’s appearance in that house calls for you to improve the quality of your daily life. You’ll want a sense that your time is more balanced, that it reflects your priorities. Catalyst Mars links up with revolutionary Uranus, making a breakthrough with your habits and your productiveness quite possible. Something could occur on the job that jars you into changing, but it’s best if you aim to be at the center of the change. Shake up your routine and get inventive in your effort to jump-start how you work and how you manage your time. Uranus has shown you in the past two years or so that your routine needs to change. Now Mars motivates you to just do it. With Saturn in Scorpio, you’re getting disciplined and pragmatic, maybe even cynical. You’re in work-work-work mode, setting boundaries and isolating yourself. But your guardedness clashes with your very private hopefulness about getting close to someone this year. You may not even admit to yourself that there’s some optimism in your expectations of an intimate relationship. On the flip side, you could be feeling quite righteous over a matter of trust and loyalty, and that’s exacerbating your isolation. You can’t settle these disparate issues easily; the best you can do now is to assimilate them.
November 22–December 21
The sun brings its vibrant energy to your creative pursuits and your love life when it enters your joy sector this week, and sweet Venus injects you with a double dose of joie de vivre when it follows the sun. But Mars’ and Uranus’ meet-up in that sector could throw a wrench into things, due to Mars’ goading nature and Uranus’ inherent obstreperousness. You may quickly feel rather out of control in your impetus to enjoy yourself. Spontaneous self-expression, impromptu affection, an impulsive pursuit of fun, an out-of-left-field love affair—these are all possible now. Uranus has been in this part of your chart for the last couple of years, trying to free up your creativity, your playfulness, your romantic life and your potential for happiness. Mars brings his boldness and his action this week to stir things up. On a different note, the faith you’re placing in one-on-one relationships (and maybe one specific person) isn’t syncing up with your unconscious doubts, your private blues or the sinking feeling you’ve had about things coming to an end. Try to bring those darker emotions closer to the surface so you can understand them better.
December 22–January 19
Your focus turns to home, family, childhood memories and your emotional bedrock, as the sun and Venus segue into your domesticity-and-roots sector. Surprising provocation in one of these areas is possible, but not inevitable. To lessen the chances of being set off by someone else, be the one who starts it. That’s not to say you should initiate a conflict—but you should take action of some kind so you can supersede reaction. Have the courage to separate from the past or from your family legacy. Recognize that there’s something you can do to combat the unpredictability in your family or your home life. At the end of the week, you may realize that your hopes for your current job are out of step with what you’re striving for next. The expectations of your coworkers or your attempts to expand your responsibilities don’t match with the concept of teamwork or with your slow build towards another goal. What you’re doing right now and what serves your higher purpose aren’t exactly one and the same, and that becomes undeniable now.
January 20–February 18
Flirtatiousness and curiosity escalate, as does the pace of your daily activity, when the supercharged sun and social Venus cruise into your cognition-and-communication sector. You want gossip, information and plenty of interaction, but sharp-tongued aggression could mar the friendly lightheartedness of your mood. Knowing that a lightning bolt is electrifying your brain—thanks to a Mars-Uranus conjunction in that part of your chart—you might try to anticipate it and look out for flashes of brilliant insight rather than exploding verbally. Uranus is freeing your mind, getting you to step back and see things differently, more objectively. Mars comes along now to catalyze that process. Another potential bumpy scenario would be an argument with a sibling; you might need the fortitude to detach from them, to be less enmeshed. Another use for the current energy pattern would be for you to take action to improve your community or to benefit your siblings. At the end of the week, you’ll grapple with unease over the way in which your wish to expand your creativity, your love life or your playtime isn’t exactly dovetailing with your career track and your work ethic. They won’t come together neatly; it’s a juggling act.
February 19–March 20
As the stimulating sun and law-of-attraction Venus make their entrance into your resources zone this week, start to focus on what you value, what you have going for you, how you draw in money and what you want in terms of possessions and financial assets. When agitators Mars and Uranus unite in that zone, you could impulsively—and even crazily—act out, splurging or making a questionably hasty financial move. Instead, keep a cool head and take a step to do something about your money and/or your stuff. For the last couple of years, you’ve been feeling like cash and possessions suddenly come and suddenly go. Arrive at an unemotional perspective on this situation, and take action that shows insight into it. At the end of the week, family expectations, what you want out of your living situation or the fact that you’ve got a lot going on at home clash with your education goals, travel plans or your ambition to expand your horizons. If you’re idealizing the past in some way, that’s not in keeping with what you’re building for the future.
