February 19–March 20
You may find yourself reviewing the past, with Mercury—planet of thinking—retrograde in your sign. Mercury encounters five other planets this week, connecting your innermost thoughts with nearly everything that’s going on in your life. Your desire, your love life and your creativity may seem incongruent with your family’s expectations or a busy home life, and getting what you want could feel out of the question at the moment. But if you consider the whole network of people in your life, you’ll start to see that what you’re wishing for is altogether possible. Committing to a mature, responsible philosophy of dealing head-on with reality will empower you, as will honoring a dream that comes from deep within you, possibly dating back many years. You need to combine the best of yourself, the best of your heritage, the best of your connections and the best of your belief in the future to build something of substance.
March 21–April 19
You can gain access to the contents of your unconscious this week, an opportunity that you’d be wise to take advantage of for your own benefit. When Mercury and Venus in your subliminal zone spar with Jupiter in your cognition sector, thoughts and desires that you’re only vaguely aware come into conflict with your conscious mindset or that which you hold to be true. However, this repressed material meshes well with your evolving goals and the inner workings of a relationship. Bringing things into the light for further consideration will enable you to see how commitment and trust are linked with your core ambitions. You may think you know what your hopes for the future are, but you can discover things about yourself now that show you how aiming deeper may be even more pertinent than aiming higher.
April 20–May 20
With your ruler Venus and retrograde Mercury in your network sector clashing with expectant Jupiter in your worth house, it’s possible that your week will start and/or end with a misunderstanding over money or values. Don’t force the issue; instead, contemplate what it is that you want from people and which friendships are and aren’t working. Think about what you’re hoping to accomplish in your next chapter, now that something in your life has wound down. People are capable of broadening your perspective and shifting your beliefs, emboldening you to conceive of a brighter future. Committing to the solid people in your life can give you the courage to change what needs changing. Rather than presuming that others should value what you value and believe what you believe, let their differences open up your world.
May 21–June 20
Mercury—backtracking in your ambition angle—encounters the sun and Venus there; clicks with Saturn in your work zone and Pluto in your sharing sector; and clashes with Jupiter in your sign this week. It’s natural for you to revisit a goal in your head, but with Mercury retrograde, don’t try to verbalize your thoughts to anyone just yet. It’s easy to get ahead of yourself now by riding the wave of your ambition. Take this time to investigate something further and to do the grunt work. Although your ideas aren’t ready to be shared with the world, do feel free to share them with a partner or collaborator. If you’re reworking something important, be sure to keep a record of it for future reference. Use fantasy for inspiration now, but don’t take it too literally.
June 21–July 22
Your enthusiasm about the future has you on a mission of sorts, but with mental Mercury retrograde for the time being, it’s more useful to rethink your beliefs than to preach them. You might be espousing a perceived truth that’s not in keeping with an unconscious truth trying to surface. With several planets packed into your opinions sector, there’s a danger of becoming a tad overzealous or self-righteous. But you can get an invaluable education now from a strong mentor, so adopt an attitude of seeking and let a love of learning be your motivation. You’re taking yourself more seriously as a person who has something unique to express, and you should also take your audience seriously. You can get closer to someone this week by respecting yourself and him or her enough to be entirely real and raw emotionally.
July 23–August 22
With planets in your sharing sector connecting with heavyweights Saturn and Pluto and sparring with Jupiter, ruler of expectations, it’s an ideal time to ask yourself whether you’re honoring your commitments with integrity. Are you fulfilling your contracts, and if not, what kind of revision do they need? A contract need not be of the legal or written variety, but can also simply be an agreement between parties—both spoken and unspoken. The implicit agreements that bind us to others can be particularly thorny. It’s also a good week to look at how you spend your time and what you do for work and to examine how well those choices reflect your integral values. Does your schedule say something about who you are at your core? Are you being as true as possible to your agreements not only with others, but with yourself as well?
August 23–September 22
Your energy, your mind and your heart are all focused on relationships this week, with the vibrant sun, mental Mercury and affectionate Venus coming together in your partnership house. Be careful not to pin your hopes on someone to deliver concrete results, since optimistic Jupiter in your ambition angle is sparring with two out of those three planets. Opt for responsible, careful, mature communication and serious thinking over disproportionate expectations and exaggerated speech. Revisit a relationship issue, and delve into the dark, intense emotions in your heart, but again, be mindful of how you convey them. If a relationship—romantic or otherwise—isn’t on your radar, then this time could just as well be about painstakingly planning a creative project and going over the specifics of bringing it to fruition and presenting it to others.
September 23–October 22
Half the planets are crowded into your duties sector, keeping you plenty busy with work and other responsibilities. Your ruler Venus is in this cluster, calling your attention to relations with coworkers and prompting you to question what you want out of your job—and furthermore, your day. You may realize that the way you use your time isn’t in keeping with your view of the future, your sense of adventure or your quest for learning. The urge to break free from routine may cause you to overdo it some way, possibly impacting your health. But if you can start to connect the dots between your habits, your work, your wellness, your home life, your values, your talents and your finances, you’ll be making excellent use of this time in your life. An additional piece of the puzzle that may help: You’re separating from your family history in some way, and that’s essential to taking your gifts and your ability to provide for yourself seriously.
October 23–November 21
This isn’t an easy time for you; rather, it’s an important time. Saturn in your sign is forcing you to grow up and define yourself more clearly, while deep, dark Pluto in your cognition zone fills your mind with heavy, intense matters. But as planets in your joy sector make contact with Saturn and Pluto, you’re reminded that love and happiness should inform your current process. As you individuate, relationships and creativity are prime means for expressing your authentic self. This week can reconnect you with your heart chakra, but it’s up to you to open it. If you revisit an artistic project or love affair in your mind and find yourself wanting more, make sure to focus on your own empowerment instead of placing expectations on another person. Don’t let the gravity of this period in your life drag you down. You can manifest something from the heart, so ask yourself what you want and what makes you happy.
November 22–December 21
You continue to focus on home and/or family this week, as the planets coalesce in your domestic angle, but you could run into trouble with miscommunication, since one of those planets is verbal Mercury—traveling retrograde at the moment. Another potential hiccup is Mercury’s clash with excessive Jupiter in your one-on-one zone, upping the chances that you’ll expect too much from a particular person. Try to keep impatience and exaggerated hopes in check. You’re better off hunkering down and taking care of yourself. Concentrate on your own resources and strengthening your security through sheer willpower. There’s a definite connection between your growing ability to release old baggage and close the book on something and your evolving self-esteem and relationship to money and stuff. Lying low and focusing on yourself can help you to make that connection.
December 22–January 19
Cerebral Mercury is retrograde in your cognition sector in the chimerical sign of Pisces, and four other planets are clustered there as well, so your mind is buzzing, but your mental state is quite subjective. And when Mercury conflicts with overblown Jupiter in your work sector, it’s important to understand that you’re probably holding colleagues or your job to an unreasonably high standard now. Realizing how much you want out of your current day-to-day routine could lead to disillusionment, but there’s an opportunity here to think about what you most want to draw in to your life and to build a long-range plan that makes the most of your crescendoing feeling of empowerment. Review your network of contacts and your hopes for what’s next, then explore the links between those and your deepening self-knowledge. Resolve to maintain integrity in your dealings with others and to only try to control your destiny, not people.
January 20–February 18
A financial issue crops up again this week, when backtracking Mercury in your money zone contacts several other planets. Be cautious about overindulging for pure pleasure, because your spending is likely to be out of proportion to reality now. Make an effort to sync up your self-worth and your fiscal approach with your dedication to your career. You’re going through a period where you need to take your goals seriously and put yourself out there in the world as an authority. But there’s a tricky connection to be made between taking your rightful place in the professional arena and the dark unconscious stuff you’re dealing with—or possibly not dealing with. Feeling like you’ve earned a certain amount of public status hinges on coming to terms with your drive for power and accepting that you’re changing on a very deep level from within.
