Lindsey Thornburg is a fashion designer whose prints and dress silhouettes are eye catching, clean, and dynamic. Take a simple dress shape with a diverse fresh print and you have an item that’s cool, unique, and easy to incorporate into your everyday wardrobe. We collaborated with Thornburg to create an exclusive small capsule collection for Free People this spring, and let’s just say the collection reminds us of summer skies and those effortless, easy days.
Describe the aesthetic of your designs. Does it carry over into your personal style as well?
Urban 90’s witch, with a touch of eclectic bohemian. All of it comes from my personal style, some pieces are more fantasy than the next but everything I do is an extension of myself.
How do you gather inspiration?
Everything. It’s really about taking experiences and communicating the story through silhouettes while building imagery around the illusion. Design is about transforming thought, and putting into the physical the realm, which is always an interesting/inspiring process.
Who is the girl that wears your collection?
Girls and women whom are looking for something a bit against the grain, ethereal or statement pieces. We like to make pieces that one never wants to part with, a conversation piece the goes beyond a trend and is to be coveted.
