Blogger Diary: Memorial Day Weekend

I hope you all had a lovely weekend! It is chilly and rainy in Philly today and in my mind I’m on a warm beach with ocean waves crashing in my ears. I can’t remember the last time I didn’t spend Memorial Day weekend at the beach. It’s become a tradition, and every year we have a group of family and friends who all gather for the weekend at our house. Sometimes it’s the same people, sometimes there are new people, and sometimes there are people I haven’t seen in years. It’s always a reminder of how much things change, but how certain things will always stay the same. The beach will always be home to me – what place is home to you?

“Certain things, they should stay the way they are. You ought to be able to stick them in one of those big glass cases and just leave them alone.”

– J.D. Salinger

I have dreamed of living by the beach, creating a home there and seeing the beauty of the ocean every single day. But for now I call this tiny town, home

My mind is with you.
It was a cool, cloudy Memorial Day weekend here is Chicago.
Looking forward to a little warm-up.

Lovely, especially the shells. Makes me want to run off to the beach right now!
