How To Get The Summer Head Scarf Look

The head scarf has been a trend that has been emerging for quite some time, from the day when Grace Kelly glamorously got photographed in the 70’s in her pink turban on Palm Beach, to when Prada made a fashion statement with models sashaying down the runway with jewel-toned turban headbands in their 2007 Spring runway. The trend keeps coming back every year during the spring/summer months and we agree it’s a tricky one to try and pull off, but here we want to show you how to create the head scarf look in a wearable way. Below are the steps to create the rosette head scarf using our Asymmetrical Ikat Scarf. We used this scarf as it’s lightweight and the ends are slightly narrow, making it easier to work with.

Step one: Fold the scarf into a width that fits around your head nicely — it shouldn’t be too wide. Bring the scarf around the back of the head to the front, like so.

Step two: Bring it back around to the back, making sure the crossover at the front looks nice and tidy at the forehead.

Step three: Cross it again and the back of the head.

Step four: Bring the two ends to the front. As you tie the scarf around the head, make sure you pull on it slightly so the scarf doesn’t fall or become loose.

Step five: Tie the two ends into a knot.

Step six: Add another knot, so the knot becomes a little bulky.

Step seven: Start wrapping the two ends around the knot to create a rosette.

Step eight: Make sure you leave enough of the scarf ends free to reach the back and tie another knot.

Step nine: Bring the ends to the back of the head.

Step ten: Secure at the back of the head with a summer knot and tuck the reminder ends under the scarf.

Step eleven: Fiddle with the rosette until you like how it looks, and then you’re done! A cute little summer head scarf for every day and the beach.

This is just gorgeous! May I ask, how long do you think the scarf needs to be to achieve this look?
