Summer is a time for freshness and bright pops of happy color – from your wardrobe to the makeup you use. I asked our makeup artist Deanna Hagan to share her favorite shades for summer – for eyes, lips, and nails. She always does such an incredible job on our models in studio and in our catalogs, so I was excited to hear her expert advice! Here are the shades she is loving for summer beauty.
The nail polish: Chanel “Lilis”
This nail polish has the sweetest hue and looks great against tan summer skin!
The eyeshadow: Kevyn Aucoin precision eye definer in “Twinkle.”
This has a beautiful texture for lining eyes or smudging in lash line for subtle but sexy eyes.
The lip color: NARS velvet matte lip crayon in “Dolce Vita“
I love this shade pressed into lips or applied then blotted off.

It gives such a beautiful sun kissed look on my olive complexion, similar to Nara orgasm but in a gel formulation so it looks more dewy. And a bit of metallic brown kohl round the eyes, subtle for the bright sunshine but gives enough definition.
I’m obsessed with Lilac right now. I’m currently wearing Lilacism by OPI and glued little nail art flowers to them. Lilac eyeshadow, brown mascara, thick dark and groomed eye brows and light pink blush gives a lovely feminine look for Blondes and very flattering for brunettes with brown eyes.
