One thing I love about living in Philly is how close in proximity we are to wonderful places, such as the Jersey beaches and NYC. This past weekend, we packed up the car and drove to Brooklyn for a little getaway. I’ve only spent a short amount of time in Brooklyn prior to this trip, so I was excited to have a few days to explore. There really is no place quite like it. The people and the atmosphere are so different from anywhere else I’ve been, and it seemed like everywhere I turned there was something of interest to me. We spent our time walking around flea markets, eating at delicious restaurants and admiring all of the unique types of people. It was refreshing to spend a weekend outside of Philly and live the Brooklyn pace.
We ate brunch at Five Leaves on Saturday morning to fuel up for the day.
Five Leaves is right across from McCarren park, so we made our way over after brunch.
We hit up the Brooklyn Flea in Fort Greene in search of some housewares and I came to the conclusion that I love flea markets. I really had to restrain myself from buying everything I liked.
On Saturday night we ate at Traif in Williamsburg. SO GOOD.

Looks fun! There are so many great places to visit in our own backyards!
