Adventure #3: Go For A Hike

Throughout the month of July, I’m playing a little game that I’m calling Adventure by Fate, where each week I partake in a different adventure – decided by the roll of a wooden block. For week 3, the block landed on “Go for a hike” – and that’s just what I did!

I stayed at my friends’ house in the beautiful suburbs of PA one night. There’s a huge wooded area that opens right to their backyard, so I got up early the next morning and went for a solo hike before anyone else even woke up.

I love being alone in nature because I’m really able to pay attention to every little detail – and there really are so many beautiful details that deserve to be examined. I walked and walked, admiring the scenery that surrounded me, collecting little pieces of specimen that had landed by my feet. I somehow wound up in a field of wildflowers – it was truly breathtaking. It was a peaceful, gorgeous hike; a perfect way to start the day.

Eeeee I love this! I went for a run through the woods yesterday, (6 miles) and a mile and a half in I already had picked up an armful of birch bark after yesterdays inspiration, and a handful of wild flowers. Which meant I had to run the whole loop with my arms full! Definitely worth it. I love being alone in the woods.
