Nature-inspired décor is a beautiful thing. It gives you a feeling of being outdoors, helping reconnect you with your roots. Last week I did a post about taking a hike in the woods, and today I want to share an idea for what to do with all the specimen you may collect while on such a hike!
Whenever I spend time outdoors, I always seem to come back with a bag full of leaves, twigs, moss, pieces of tree bark, and more.
For this décor setup, I’m using some specimen I’ve collected in the woods — like tree bark and moss — along with some things I’ve gotten from a craft store — like auburn eucalyptus, faux feathers, and glass bottles.
How incredible is that glass light bulb vase? I found it at the craft store for $1 and was so stoked about it.
Fill your jars with bits and pieces of the specimen and find a spot to set it all up. I set mine up on top of a vintage wooden crate.
I placed the twigs and tree bark around the perimeter of the setup, and also added a candle inside one of the moss-filled jars.
I love the way a single feather looks inside a glass bottle that’s been turned upside down.
The next time you’re out on a walk, pick up some fallen specimen and incorporate them into your home. The best part about it is that once you’re ready for a new setup, you can just place the items back outside where they came from!
