DIY Embroidered Chucks

Post image for DIY Embroidered Chucks

My sister recently got a pair of brand new white Converse, and knowing how much I love a blank canvas, she let me get crafty with them! There are so many ways you can update a plain pair of Chucks — you can stud them, patch them, paint them…I decided to go with embroidering them.  This is such a fun way to add some unexpected color to the sneakers, and make them completely one-of-a-kind!

What you need: A pair of Converse in your color of choice (check out our selection!), embroidery floss and a needle.

I decided to add the embroidery along the back of the chucks, but you can get creative with this and do whatever you want!

I like when things are sort of random and mismatched, so on the other shoe I stitched little triangles.

And here are my finished Chucks! What do you guys think, would you embroider your Converse?

That is so fun that she let you do whatever you pleased on them! They turned out so well! I bet the triangle pattern would also look good embroidered on a shirt!

I love this idea! Fair warning though, doesn’t work as well on low-tops because of the heel support on the back, it is very hard to push a needle through. I broke a needle when I was halfway done! Other than that, turned out perfect!
