Fall fashion has always been my favorite. We can layer up and get cozy, yet the weather is still moderate enough to bare some skin (thigh highs, yes!). At the beginning of every season, it’s really helpful (and fun) to acquire a few select wardrobe essentials to upgrade your looks for that season. Today we asked west coast writer Amy to share 4 Free People closet essentials that we’re loving this fall.
No one should go through the fall months without a perfect pair of boots. Knee or ankle, whatever your preference, they should be a pair that can be thrown on with anything in your closet; pretty dresses, an edgy pant, or your favorite boho maxi skirt. These are your fool proof shoes to be used any and every day though this season.
Our favorite option…. The Double Rafter Boot.
Next is a great pair of non-denim pants. Never underestimate the power of dressing up an amazing pair of suede or leather pants… they will always give way to the ultimate fall look. We’re loving the dual color of the Oliver Suede Pant. For those of you on the minimalistic side of things… the Vegan Leather Skinny is a go-to winner.
A good jacket is the must-have item for fall. We love the idea of the jacket as a standalone piece, the special item of a look, where everything else can take (happily) a backseat. The Shadow Plaid Sergeant Jacket has our heart for this very reason.
Last but certainly not least, everyone should own a great hat. Bad hair days are no longer a bad thing… throw a hat on (that fits your face shape) and no one has to know you opted out of using your hairbrush. We would sport the Matador Hat day and night — it’s the perfect shape.
